Ruby-1F4 Cut-4ND, better known as Eyeball Ruby, Ruby, or Eyeball, is a major antagonist of Cartoon Network's Steven Universe franchise. She is a Homeworld Gem and one of the member of the Ruby Squad.

She appears as a major antagonist in Season 3, a minor antagonist in Season 5, and a major antagonist in the limited series Steven Universe Future as Bluebird Azurite.

Like all the other Rubys, she is voiced by Charlyne Yi.

In General

She did show a sense of honor in the past, but she subverted this by the time of Steven Universe Future and became much worse, as seen when she holds Greg Universe hostage.
Despite seeming to be genuinely insecure about her relationships, as shown when she watched Ruby and Sapphire talking to each other, and had a sad look on her face; and when she cried after Amethyst as Jasper placed Doc onto her lap when they were heading to the Moon Base; she appears to be far past her insecurities by the time of Future.
Although she has some comedic moments, they don't really detract from her villainy and she is taken seriously in-universe.

Steven Universe

She and the rest of the Rubies arrive on Earth to find Jasper and play a game of baseball with the Crystal Gems who are disguised as humans, when the Gems' cover is blown she and the Rubies fuse into one Giant Ruby in an attempt to kill them.
She and the other Rubies fuse again in order to fight the Crystal Gems, and before flying away she pulls Steven out the airlock with her into the vacuum of space.
She tries to kill Steven inside the latter's bubble, thinking he is Rose Quartz after he healed her cracked gemstone and trying to disembowel him by taking his gem.
She tells the Diamonds what she knows about Rose Quartz (Steven), and appears as a witness during the trial, where she tells the court how Steven said he had Rose's shield and all of her other powers, making Steven appear more guilty.

Steven Universe Future

She teams up with Aquamarine to get revenge on Steven in Era 3, and they fuse into Bluebird Azurite.
When they unfuse and reveal themselves, she uses a chisel to threaten to kill Greg as Aquamarine threatens Steven with murdering his dad if they didn't destroy Little Homeworld.
After Aquamarine pretends to redeem herself in front of Steven, she and Aquamarine fly off into the sky vowing that they would be back for revenge.

Why Doesn't She Pass the Baseline?

She fails the baseline with her worst crimes amounting to "kill-the-heroes" villainy, making her bog-standard. Even if she passed the baseline, she still fails the heinous standards to Aquamarine, who kidnapped six of Steven's friends (most of them children) and threatened to kill them all as he watches if he doesn't stand down.
Despite often being unable to get along with Aquamarine and constantly bickering with her when they are not focused on hating Steven, they still are able to legitimately work well together.
She has a few Pet the Dog moments, when she actually thanks the Crystal Gems after they seemingly give her and the other Rubies Jasper's location, proving she does have a degree of politeness; and when she doesn't get mad when Leggy continuously grabs her for defense, despite literally growling at Steven when he touches her arm.
